Okay, my first ever blog-post is done! I hope you enjoy it! It is about my change over to trusted open-source apps, from closed-source apps!

If you have any questions, feel free to write a comment or ask me here!

I decided to post it on #Plume

There are some CSS issues with the headlines, but otherwise I must admit I like it! Hopefully it is fixed soon!

The #federated #blogging engine, #Plume, has got a fresh new website: https://joinplu.me.

It is one of the most complete #activitypub projects still in alpha stage, and looking very neat too.

Things to do to help the project:

- contribute financially
- make a translation
- launch an instance

There are already some stable and updated Plume #instances running right now: Fediverse.blog, or plume.mastodon.host, or https://plume.hostux.coffee, as well as https://plume.oa-dev.com, more soon.

this seems like a reliable hosting for a federated blog https://plume.mastodon.host/ #plume #blogging

Hey 👋 it's easier to follow an account than a hashtag, so I created this one for https://Read.as.

Read.as is a long-form reader, similar to Feedly, built to be a peaceful place to read things from the fediverse :fediverse: -- particularly from long-form platforms like #Plume, @write_as, #Microblogpub, etc. In the future it'll also support RSS and curating what you read on your own profile.

It's built from scratch to be #FOSS, and is still very early in its development. But...

Let's call it a night! I opened a brand new blog for #Funkwhale using #Plume, the federated blog engine maintained by @Bat

This space will be used to publish important announcements about the project, and you can follow @funkwhale to get updates directly in the fediverse.

The first post is quite a big announcement. TL;DR: I'm leaving my job in novemebr to work full-time on Funkwhale !

considering all the new #Fediverse applications popping up (#Pixelfed, #Plume, #Peertube, ...), heres an idea:
develop an #ActivityPub based #Github clone; this could bring the development process much closer to everyday people and fosters a better communication and involvement between devs and non-devs.
*** bonus points if you host it on github until it can host itself ***

There's an amazing number of #ActivityPub #alternatives now available or under development:

@drequivalent
maybe also to mention two blogging plattforms that are already implementing #ActivityPub. There is #plume and @write_as.
@cwebber

The blogging platform #Plume aims to be a federated open source alternative to #Medium, and is under active development.

It's still at a pre-Alpha stage, but you can get regular updates from the lead developer at @BaptisteGelez (the account is on a Plume instance but it federates through #ActivityPub, so you can follow it on Mastodon etc).

There's a demo Plume instance at:

https://baptiste.gelez.xyz/

Developers can find out more here:

#Blogging #Blogs #Alternatives

Cool. There's a new #activitypub platform for blogging called #plume, meant to be an alternative to #medium. This could be a pretty big deal, because it means orgs can go all in on the #fediverse. They can have a #mastodon/#pleroma acct for quick communication and host their blog on plume instead of medium and all of it will federate, so users can choose how to follow and communicate with them.

Mastodon could get their blog off medium and @deadsuperhero can get #wedistribute onto the fediverse.
